Wise Posted October 31, 2008 Posted October 31, 2008 Hey guys, I just cant get my 3DO to look right, This it 2 3D solid shapes in realisitc mode when I 3DO them, they are fairly large in size but I am running 3GB and a very new computer, is there a wat to make it show 3D when rotateting it! Thanks Quote
ReMark Posted October 31, 2008 Posted October 31, 2008 Looks like you have 2D Wireframe as your Visual Style. Why didn't you use Conceptual or Realistic? Quote
Wise Posted October 31, 2008 Author Posted October 31, 2008 no I am thats the point, these are not blocks they are shapes, but when I rotates them in realistic mode they show up like this! Quote
ReMark Posted October 31, 2008 Posted October 31, 2008 What graphics card are you running? Have you set up performance tuning yet? Quote
Wise Posted October 31, 2008 Author Posted October 31, 2008 I am running a NVIDIA Quadro FX 1600M 512MB its a work computer I am not sure what performace tuning is hehe Quote
shift1313 Posted October 31, 2008 Posted October 31, 2008 is it displayed like this all the time or only during rotation? sometimes with larger or complex shapes the images turn to blocks so you can quick rotate. There is a setting for this but i cant remember what it is off hand. Quote
ReMark Posted October 31, 2008 Posted October 31, 2008 Gads...with a card like that you shouldn't have a problem in the world. Command entry: 3dconfig From the Browser Button (the big red A). Tools menu > Options > System tab > Performance Settings. In the Adaptive Degradation and Performance Tuning dialog box, click View Tune Log. Quote
ReMark Posted October 31, 2008 Posted October 31, 2008 I can't image that a card of that calibre would have a problem with just two box shaped solids no matter what their size. Quote
Wise Posted October 31, 2008 Author Posted October 31, 2008 the 3dconfig works! but I understand why the FPS setting is there oh man! the thing you have to understand is while you all may work on parts, buildings an equipment, I work with mines, the 3d object I am trying to rotate is a ore body which runes KM long and is hundreads of thousands tons in rock, I took off the adaptive FPS setting and I can rotate it but oh man is it laggy! Thanks guys Quote
ReMark Posted November 1, 2008 Posted November 1, 2008 If you are still experiencing the "stutters" then you might want to shut down other applications via Taskmanager. You could turn off your antivirus program too. What OS are you running? Quote
ReMark Posted November 1, 2008 Posted November 1, 2008 For what you are doing could the image size be scaled down? Has the drawing been purged? Are all unnecessary layers frozen? Quote
