AutoCad 2009 keeps crashing...

I'm having terrible problems with this. It keeps crashing whilst handling 3d drawings and stating various unhandled access violation error reports.

Anyone else come across this?

Pick one of the unhandled access violation error reports and write down exactly what it says and post back here.

Have all service packs been installed?

When did the problem first occur?

Hi

This is the error report it just threw up

' FATAL ERROR : unhandled Access Violation Reading 0x0001 Exception at 66cda706h'

It first happened a few weeks ago so I installed apatch from the Autodesk site which sounded as if it may help. This was a hotfix containing

acdb17.dll

AcSignCore16.dll

I replaced these in the program files and things have got steadily worse with the crash appearing more regularly.

Saying that, I re-installed this morning and it doesn't seem to be any better.

Thanks for helping!

P

Ok, I completely uninstalled, reinstalled and then installed SP 1 and 2 for Revit Architecture Suite 2009 and it's just crashed again.

Not like I've got a team of carpenters and welders waiting for drawings to build a set for a large scenic workshop or anything...

Any help would be most appreciated,

P.

Questions:

What are the specs of your computer? 2009 requires a minimum of 2GB RAM for 3D work.

Have you installed any other programs recently that may be causing a conflict?

Does this happen with all drawings or just this one?

Have you tried running an AUDIT on this drawing file as well as any Xrefs that may be attached?

I've got 3BG of RAM and a NVIDIA GeForce 8800 GT.

Haven't installed anything lately...

Happening with all DWGs

Haven't tried AUDIT, will give it a go.

Thanks
