enelram Posted November 4, 2008 Posted November 4, 2008 Can you actually have a very good 3d model complete with realistic rendering with just the autocad software? Or do you guys just complete the modelling in autocad and use other software to do a realistic render? Quote
nocturne00 Posted November 4, 2008 Posted November 4, 2008 AutoCAD from versions 2007 and above already renders with quite some realism coz they include with a render engine. there are several approaches in making a realistic presentation. some would include importing cad models to 3d viz, Vray, then add some finishing touches in photoshop(yeah I know, a lot of work) Quote
mugshot Posted November 4, 2008 Posted November 4, 2008 ... 3d.... autocad ... rendering... viz ... animation ... 3d's max. either version, they are all autodesk generated programs that is why any program will do coz they are almost the have the same panels. Quote
shift1313 Posted November 4, 2008 Posted November 4, 2008 acad 08 that you have will(can) produce very nice images. But not on its own, you have to play around with settings, your model and the environment. There are certain things that are easier in other programs though. What are you trying to do? Quote
papagyi Posted November 4, 2008 Posted November 4, 2008 This is depend on what is your satisfied of 3dmodeling and rendering? Normally engineering and especially for architecture point of view, autocad 2008/9 will give you best(best modeling and realistic rendering). For more great, play with 3ds max and vray. Quote
shift1313 Posted November 5, 2008 Posted November 5, 2008 i only had the trial version of acad 09(same as your 08) but i drew/rendered a few things. here is something that was done in 09 i spent a lot of time playing around with materials and lights and things. One thing that really makes your part look realistic is an environment. Having other elements in the drawing really change the whole thing. Quote
enelram Posted November 6, 2008 Author Posted November 6, 2008 Thanks guys....I'm an architecture major stuck in 2d drafting. Now I want to venture into 3d modelling and rendering of residential houses and maybe later on try commercial buildings. but knowing that acad can bring out realistic rendering is good to know....at least will just need to concentrate on one program. Just need patience and a lot of playing around, I guess. Quote
shift1313 Posted November 6, 2008 Posted November 6, 2008 if you are interested in buildings and houses there are programs geared toward that which will save you time. each autodesk program has its intended use and while you can do a lot in autocad, your focus might make using other software packages more beneficial. Noahma Posted November 7, 2008 Posted November 7, 2008 If you start to get heavy into rendering and want to stick with an autocad platform, putting the time and effort into learning Autocad Architecture can be very beneficial Quote
