Tool Palettes Won't Stay Hidden

I'm running a brand-spanking new copy of AutoCAD 2013. And try as I might I cannot seem to get these two tool palettes to stay hidden. As I recall with earlier versions I just shut them down and they stayed out of the way on subsequent starts. I also have tried doing workspace/edit and then saved the workspace but no matter, the next time AutoCAD 2013 starts up these palettes are back on the model space.

 

 

 

UPDATE: Found the key to this was to re-save the Default Workspace....I just wasn't taking that far but when I did it corrected the problem.
