Hi Guys, everytime that i try and match properties or change the line type by selecting a layer in the layer properites manager, all the lines stay the same (as if nothing has happened). the lines that i am selecting are not in blocks

any suggestions as to why i can not change the lines types or colours?

Welcome to the forum. :)

Are the layers LOCKED?

Have you checked your MATCHPROP settings?

Type MATCHPROP then select source object

look at the prompt at the command window

Select destination object(s) or [settings]

It sounds like your LINETYPES are not set BY LAYER, which they would need to be, for your layer properties manager approach to work.

Select everything including the lines whose linetypes you wish to change, then in your QUICK PROPERTIES palette dropdown filter list, select lines, then you can edit them all at once to be

BY LAYER, or to a specific color if you want. You can customize the display of the QUICK PROPERTIES palette for specific entity types, so that you can

see whatever information you want to quite easily, on the fly.

You're welcome.

Glad I could help. :)

I love the QUICK PROPERTIES palette, for all the ways it can be used and customized,

would be lost without it. One of those nice things is the FILTERING behavior like you

just used for this simple task.

I also use it for zeroing out Z axis values, in conjunction with the CHANGE command, PROPERTIES > ELEVATION 0 > ENTER, ENTER for

some entities like multilines and solids.
