Function keys as osnaps

Recommended Posts

Guest Alan Cullen

Just got our new computers, and have finished loading 2007 onto them.

Now, back with 2006 we could set osnaps to the function keys (e.g. F2 to snap to END). I have been told that you can't do this with 2007, if you can, can somebody please explain to me how to do it.... :)

Otherwise could anyone tell me the most efficient way to apply osnaps. :)

If it's true that we can no longer use the function keys for osnaps, then that really sucks !!!!! :(

Thanks in advance....

Go to help and in the Search tab, in the search box type "Shortcut Keys ".

Then you get the explanation on how to create shortcut keys.

I have endpt, midpt, center and intersection set as my running osnaps. If I need a different one, I hold down the shift key and right click to get the osnap pop-up menu.

Yep. I use shift right click. Much faster than going for the F keys.

Thanks everyone,

I took the settings I had for 2006, and now all is sweet with the world. All working fine.....

Thanks again.

If alan hasn't solved his problem by now he never will. You are responding to a thread from 2006.

I hadn't noticed the thread date. But, since the link posted by CarlB was no longer valid, I added a newer link for those who come here after us.....seeking knowledge.

Point taken. Thanks.

BTW...Welcome to the CADTutor forum. Have you introduced yourself formally yet?

P.S. - I still IM with Alan (the man from a land down under).

I hope you realise I'm now going to spend all afternoon trying to remember the words to the Men at Work song to try and make that scan with it!!

Thought it would be funny to comment even another 2 years later just to say how funny this thread was! HAHAH Definitely made my day!

Funny, I've been using the same (more or less) ***ACCELERATORS section of the .MNU file for this, since probably the mid 90's.

Still works today.
