issues with mr physical sky

Hi guys,

I'm having some problems with the little preview window in the Environments and effects dialog. It trims the geometry in the little preview and the bacground just stays black. It is a nice feature in Photoshop, but I don't find it useful in 3ds max.

I have tried to restart max, restart PC, I also did a new scene with just a plane and two white pyramids, the render looks fine with the blue environment, but when I want to alter the exposure values the little preview just ignores the background.

This only happens with the mr physical sky map, when I change it to noise or any bitmap, the bacground renders in the little preview as normal. I also just noticed that this issue doesn't appear when using iray as rendering engine

I can't find any setting to fix this, any ideas? :ouch:

Sorry, but I don't have an answer for you. I was hoping maybe someone else might know, but I guess not. The same thing happens in 2011, so I'm guessing maybe that's just the way it works?

that's fine Cad64, it must be a bug then, as usually it just renders the full image, when I use iray renderer the preview looks fine.

Thanks again :)
