nicolas Posted August 15, 2012 Posted August 15, 2012 Following through an online Autodesk tutorial I can across the following Select one of the edges, then drag it to the inside, and click to place. All edges highlight and drag. If all the edges do not highlight, right-click and make sure Loop Select and Constrain Offset are checked in the overflow menu, then retry the selection. In the sketch and in my case, I was unable to select all the edges by just selecting one of them. However, there are no Loop Select and Constrain Offset in the context menu. Does any one what is the overflow menu and where to check the Loop select ad Constrain Offset? Thanks in advance. Quote
JD Mather Posted August 15, 2012 Posted August 15, 2012 Post screen shot or url of the Tutorial. Are you sure it didn't say click Offset first? your screen will look slightly different if using a release prior to 2010. Quote
nicolas Posted August 15, 2012 Author Posted August 15, 2012 Hi JD Mather, Thanks for the quick response. You are right and the tutorial was right. I completely missed the step no. 2 On the ribbon, click Sketch tabModify panelOffset. Many thanks to you and sorry for the trouble. Quote
nicolas Posted August 15, 2012 Author Posted August 15, 2012 I do confirm that you were right about learning Autocad from a to z. I have just following a supposedly elementary sketch tutorial and I never thought there were so much techniques to learn. Learningthings under work load pressure is certainly not ideal and productive. Just today I understood the offset options and the use of driven dimension. I could have done the tutorial with my knowledged learned so far but it would never have been so instructive so smooth doing type of work. Many thanks. Quote
JD Mather Posted August 15, 2012 Posted August 15, 2012 I do confirm that you were right about learning Autocad .... AutoCAD? What is this AutoCAD you speak of? You might read this document http://home.pct.edu/~jmather/SkillsUSA%20University.pdf but it is written for Autodesk Inventor, not Autodesk AutoCAD. Quote
