Organic Posted September 17, 2012 Posted September 17, 2012 In countries where the metric unit system is used, AutoCAD is a foreign language programme. Only 3 countries in the world are still stuck in the past and don't use the metric system. - Liberia - Myanmar (Burma) - USA http://gizmodo.com/5786004/these-are-the-three-countries-who-dont-use-the-metric-system Quote
SLW210 Posted September 17, 2012 Posted September 17, 2012 Only 3 countries in the world are still stuck in the past and don't use the metric system.- Liberia - Myanmar (Burma) - USA http://gizmodo.com/5786004/these-are-the-three-countries-who-dont-use-the-metric-system By the late 20th century, most nations of the former empire had officially adopted the metric system as their main system of measurement, although as of 2011 the United Kingdom had only partially adopted it. A lot more than three, those maps are totally incorrect. In certain industries Imperial is still used world wide (think nautical measurement). No official change in U.S.A., but SI Units are taught at all levels of education and is becoming more popular in many trades. I think the civil, architects and nauticals are the biggest rod blocks to complete conversion. Technically few countries are 100% SI Units even now. WIKI Quote
Tiger Posted September 17, 2012 Posted September 17, 2012 I like to tote that we only use the metric system here in Sweden. Not true though I'm afraid, if you buy lumber or plumbing parts for instance, the sizes are displayed in a unit that is very close (but not quite) inches. Embarrassing I know Quote
NarkDuffy Posted September 17, 2012 Author Posted September 17, 2012 Hi Bit of a chat here. In he UK I still think in feet and inches even though I know it's a crazy system it's in my brain for good. Just like someone's weight. I am not sure if this is the correct place to post this. I have worked on with the scaling and have a layout with a locked scale. It is 10:1. IO don't know what that means. I expected to have a scale of 100:1. Could someone please have a look and tell me what I have. Also i tried to create more layouts but cannot delete the viewport so an to be able to drag in my template and create a new one of the size I need. Here's hoping Nark PS only look at the larger file. The other one shouldn't be there. Plans layer castelnau.dwg Plans layer castelnau.dwg Quote
