alijahed Posted October 3, 2012 Posted October 3, 2012 Hi All, Just faced to a basic but important issue in Inventor which does not allow you to unshare sketches!!! Am I right? Please say no because this is ridiculous. Cheers Ali Quote
JD Mather Posted October 3, 2012 Posted October 3, 2012 Who cares? Why is it ridiculous? If it really bothers you - I recommend you simply start over - avoiding any techniques that would cause it to be shared again. Post your example file here. Quote
alijahed Posted October 3, 2012 Author Posted October 3, 2012 I am afraid it was not a constructive answer. Google it You'll find how many people like me actually care about it. Quote
Bishop Posted October 3, 2012 Posted October 3, 2012 Just turn visibility of the shared sketch off. Quote
JD Mather Posted October 3, 2012 Posted October 3, 2012 I am afraid it was not a constructive answer.Google it You'll find how many people like me actually care about it. Right click and select Unshare. Post your file here. I searched Google and got two hits, one of them yours http://www.google.com/#hl=en&output=search&sclient=psy-ab&q=autodesk+inventor+unshare+shared+sketch&oq=autodesk+inventor+unshare+shared+sketch&gs_l=hp.12...2668.12581.1.13824.39.32.0.7.7.0.181.2619.27j5.32.0.les%3B..0.0...1c.1.L7epaxr5rO8&bav=on.2,or.r_gc.r_pw.r_qf.&fp=b8685a810d33f364&biw=1920&bih=1106 Quote
alijahed Posted October 4, 2012 Author Posted October 4, 2012 Thanks for your reply. It is getting more interesting because you get something different by R-Click! I am on Inventor2012 maybe you are on 2013 and it is different. Winch Sprocket.ipt Quote
JD Mather Posted October 4, 2012 Posted October 4, 2012 I am afraid it was not a constructive answer. I was afraid you wouldn't like this answer either - shell out big bucks and upgrade to release 2013. (USA slang for - to get this one little piece of functionality is going to cost you a lot of money.) ...and your sketch is shared and therefore cannot be unshared. The part is done incorrectly - I will try to post a 2012 file with correct geometry if I get a chance. It is pretty good, but just a couple of errors. Quote
alijahed Posted October 4, 2012 Author Posted October 4, 2012 Thanks for your comments. I received this model and have not done anything about it. What I'm saying is: Sketch2 shared but it shared just with Extrusion1 so it basically can be unshared because it does not belong to any other features. Quote
JD Mather Posted October 4, 2012 Posted October 4, 2012 The problem is the sketch really is shared. It can be really subtle - hard to identify where, but it is. All in the technique of creating the part. Quote
alijahed Posted October 4, 2012 Author Posted October 4, 2012 I played with it. I have unshared as well! On the browser if you shift Extrusion1 up on the top of Extrusion3 it will work. Quote
