Camgal_59 Posted October 15, 2012 Posted October 15, 2012 Hello, I am using AutoCAD Mechanical 2008. My computer show 'α' (alpha) but when other users open up the same drawing, they show a 'Q'. What causes this? Is there a setting that needs to be changed in their computers? Jo #headscratching Quote
JD Mather Posted October 15, 2012 Posted October 15, 2012 What font? Can you attach the file here (need only the text). Quote
Camgal_59 Posted October 15, 2012 Author Posted October 15, 2012 The 'alpha' is SW Math and the remainder of the test is Romans and Romand alpha_example.pdf Quote
JD Mather Posted October 15, 2012 Posted October 15, 2012 The 'alpha' is SW Math .... Do they have that font installed on their machines? Quote
Camgal_59 Posted October 15, 2012 Author Posted October 15, 2012 I think that is probably the issue, they DON'T have the font installed. I don't know how to install the fonts, nor where to find them, otherewise I would show them how to get the correct fonts on their PC's Thank you so much for the assistance! Jo Quote
ReMark Posted October 15, 2012 Posted October 15, 2012 Anyone who has a drawing showing the font correctly should have the font on their computer. All they need do is provide you with a copy. If it is a SHX font then you just put it in the AutoCAD font folder. If it is a TTF (TrueType) font it has to be installed per the instructions (found at the Microsoft website) for the OS you are using. Quote
