How about designing a high-tech turntable?

Posted

thanks for replying yeah im thinking about doing that but im not sure how to go about it? dont want to start opening up my turntables they cost me alot!

would be much appreciated if you reply thanks!

I'm replying but even if you asked real nice I wouldn't go and take apart my Technics turntable for you. LOL I've had it for quite some time and I do "loves" the way my vinyl sounds on it! I might have a tech manual on it but I doubt it would show an exploded view. I guess with Inventor you really need to do something with moving parts. How about a clockworks? Lots of gears and ratchetes (?).

lol yeah i have the same im gonna think about it and its hard to find an exploded view of the turntable although i appreciate your advice and will think about it over the next few days thanks !

How simple or complex does this have to be?

Simple: Quick acting hold down clamp.

Complex: Oscillating fan.

I have the ideal project for you. It is called a trebuchet. A trebuchet is what is commonly referred to as a catapult. Use Google to search for "trebuchet plans" and you'll find there are many different types/designs.

A kettle or a torch?

A bit boring but both are simple and cheap and come in dozens of shapes & sizes; easy to plagiarise, sorry I meant easy to get inspiration o:) .

How about a HO Scale model Railroad?

Posted

trebuchet is the name of my pc.

they hold an annual pumpkin pitching contest in Delaware, is on SC turkey day using steam and trebuchets.

Somewhere around my mess-of-a-desk I have a set of plans for a table top trebuchet. Now if I could only find them.

Posted

yes although i must design three different concepts, anymore idea's, really appreciated

I would image since you are using Inventor that you might want to have some moving parts in this project of yours or am I wrong?

Posted

I think a trebuchet would make an excellent project. have you even bothered to research it? There are a number of moving parts on one and many variations.
