WolfpactVI Posted December 4, 2012 Author Posted December 4, 2012 Hmmm. I did see that. It's a big production to get software installed here, even a free trial. It'd be a hard sell for something that costs money too. Though how much I have no idea, since it seems to be available for sale NOWHERE online. Not even through the official Autodesk store. And I'm up for the challenge of messing with a lisp file....with loads of help....I think. :-D Quote
ReMark Posted December 4, 2012 Posted December 4, 2012 Just making you aware there are other options. Click on the link re: Locate a Reseller. If you do this type of work often enough wouldn't it be a valuable piece of software to have? Quote
WolfpactVI Posted December 4, 2012 Author Posted December 4, 2012 Well, we already have Squiggle 6. It works, but the results are horrendously unpredictable. It takes so many tries to get the squiggle right, and then a lot work post-squiggle to get it back to where we want it within AutoCAD. Not to mention that no one else in the universe seems to use it. The help forums on SignatureCad's website seem to be shut down. With all of the frustrations we have with it, I'm amazed I cant find any other posts on the web of people requestiong help or just venting. Since I mentioned venting, let me just say that I hate it more than anything else in the universe. And yes, I know there are other retailers for Autodesk. Just seems strange that there is no pricing info available for it online. This is the computer/internet age after all. OK, done venting for the moment. Dont get me started on AutoCAD and Windows. I am being forced to use them against my will. :-D Regarding the sketchy visual style, does that work with just line drawings? - J Quote
ReMark Posted December 4, 2012 Posted December 4, 2012 Vent all you want. I don't know what that sketchy visual style will work with. Sorry. Quote
irneb Posted December 4, 2012 Posted December 4, 2012 Impression is not for sale at all. It is a freeware extra program from AutoDesk if you already have a subscription license. Extract from the FAQ about Impression: Autodesk Impression is available as a free* download for Autodesk® Subscription customers of the following products: • AutoCAD® • AutoCAD® Architecture • AutoCAD® Civil • AutoCAD® Civil 3D® • AutoCAD® Inventor® Suite • AutoCAD® Inventor® Professional Suite • AutoCAD® Inventor® Routed Systems Suite • AutoCAD® Inventor® Simulation Suite • AutoCAD® Inventor® Tooling Suite • AutoCAD® Map 3D • AutoCAD® Mechanical • AutoCAD® MEP • AutoCAD® Revit® Architecture Suite • AutoCAD® Revit® MEP Suite • AutoCAD® Revit® Structure Suite • Autodesk® Revit® Architecture • Autodesk® Revit® MEP • Autodesk® Revit® Structure As for a lisp to convert arcs to line segments, this would be very similar to converting a polyline with arcs to a polyline as per this thread: http://www.cadtutor.net/forum/showthread.php?67157-Convert-polyline-with-arc-to-polyline-with-straight-lines. Edit: Sketchy works on 2d lines yes ... but not curves, e.g arcs / pline-arcs / splines are drawn normally. You can convert a closed polyline into a region and it will then adjust the "curved" portions. So I guess it's not of much use to you. Quote
