Tankman Posted November 14, 2008 Posted November 14, 2008 Anyone had experience of Samsung Monitors (26") Aren't most monitors the same? My 36" LCD/TV monitor is fine, view is BIG and clear! Quote
Attila The Gel Posted November 14, 2008 Posted November 14, 2008 No, but a friend of mine bought a samsung 22", he said that it was good, until I saw it. It really was good for 160 Euros. I have a Dell 24" DMI Input Its like looking at paper on your desk very clear and it doesn't give you eye sorrow. You should check the specs of the monitor before buying one, my advise is to spend a little extra for quality on 22" or 24" instead of 26" (which is expensive anyways) and enjoy working on it if your 5/7 and +8hours infront of it. grain Posted November 14, 2008 Author Posted November 14, 2008 Thats a strong endorsement of Dell. The Samsung is half the price of the Lacie. I'll looking into the Dell now. Can you give me the model name. Thanks Quote
ReMark Posted November 14, 2008 Posted November 14, 2008 "Aren't most monitors the same? My 36" LCD/TV monitor is fine, view is BIG and clear!" The short answer is no. 36" LCD/TV? You must be using a wireless keyboard and mouse while sitting in your lounge chair with the footrest up. You must also have either very poor eyesight, in which case the 36" size makes up for it, or very good eyesight since you must have to sit 6 feet away from your screen! LOL Quote
ReMark Posted November 14, 2008 Posted November 14, 2008 Personally, I believe 26" LCD monitor prices will fall enough over the next 6 to 8 weeks that the price difference between them and a 22" or 24" won't be that great. As Tankman says: Bigger is always better. Quote
NuttZ Posted November 14, 2008 Posted November 14, 2008 I have dual 24" Samsung's and love them. Quote

manhattan Posted November 17, 2008 Posted November 17, 2008 i have that same samsung. it is very good but my brother has one of the dell ultrasharps. i would say the dell is marginally better, particularly when comparing the 2 viewed at an angle. however the idea is to sit straight infront of the screen so i dont see this to be a problem, im happy with my samsung Quote

LOL Not all minitors are created equal. My monitor is some distance from my chair, wall mounted, tilt 'n swivel. Keyboard and mouse are certainly wireless, too many wires to begin with, why add more? I do wear glasses, near sighted, but, often work without the spec's on! The large screen makes it easier for show 'n tell *.dwg details to an office visitor/client. Quote
