marijowalters Posted March 2, 2013 Posted March 2, 2013 Hi, I need help. We have started doing 3d views in autocad. I cannot figure out how to get my text to stay in one spot and not rotate whenever I use the free orbit. Any ideas how to do this? Quote
ReMark Posted March 2, 2013 Posted March 2, 2013 Put the text on its own layer and either lock it or freeze it. Quote
Organic Posted March 2, 2013 Posted March 2, 2013 I don't know how to do that. As far as I was aware if you rotate 3d, the 2d text object will be represented as such. 2d only. You could put your model in a viewport (in paperspace), then have your text in paperspace also. When you rotate in the viewport, the text in modelspace would remain stationary. Quote
JD Mather Posted March 2, 2013 Posted March 2, 2013 Hi,I cannot figure out how to get my text to stay in one spot .... Explain the logic of what you are trying to achieve (include dwg file if that will illustrate) as what you describe does not make sense to me. There is probably a logical technique (most likely modelspace/paperspace as suggested) but more information on exactly what you are trying to achieve might help arrive at the best solution. Quote
SLW210 Posted March 4, 2013 Posted March 4, 2013 Orbit, (free, constrained or continuous) orbits everything, whether on Frozen or Locked layers or not, it is a visual navigation tool. Sounds like you want 3DROTATE , maybe. Quote
