Bom 2013 mep

I've read some posts in here discussing how to do this, but am not understanding.

Is there a simpleton version of how to pull a BOM to include fittings, and total pipe required?

I am designing heating lines in 3D, and my boss asked if we could somehow pull the info out of the program to use as a take off.

I am new to MEP and doing this kind of piping work.

Thanks.
