Plot Solution - Feedback

Hi,

 

I have created an in house plot solution and just wanted to hear some feedback from people here on it.

 

Basically when the user switches to the layout area the following is occurs:

 

Selects the sheet size from a dynamic block A0-A4, if an elongated version is required the user can stretch the sheet size in predefined steps.

 

Our standards define that a named page set-up has to be created with the output type, size, length if not standards size.

 

for example ....PDF_A1x2000 for a drawing sheet where a pdf is the output, based on an A1 sheet and stretched to 2000mm

 

To do this the user only has to select a single command and then select the top right hand corner of the sheet frame.

 

The command automatically creates a named page set-up that adheres to the standard naming convention and sets it current , then creates a pdf file that is automatically saved to a PDF folder in the relevant project directory.

 

Prior to the creation of the pdf, it will go into the viewport and rearrange all Xrefs so that they are in the correct draw order.

 

There are command options available to create PDF, PLT or directly print to a plotter. There are also commands that will just create the page-set-ups so they are available for the next user.

 

I would appreciate any comments, feedback or suggestions for improvement.
