ReMark Posted July 2, 2013 Posted July 2, 2013 I'm confused as to exactly what you are trying to accomplish here. Please explain. I would have created a spreadsheet in Excel then I would have used the Table command, Datalink option to bring the spreadsheet into AutoCAD as a table. This would have one main advantage. You could change the contents of the table in AutoCAD and send those changes back upstream to the spreadsheet OR you could change the spreadsheet in Excel and then in AutoCAD you could update the datalink to see those changes reflected in your table. Think of it as a two way street with traffic going in both directions. Quote

ReMark Posted July 3, 2013 Posted July 3, 2013 (edited) Why would you expect a closed spreadsheet to get updated? Use the DATALINKUPDATE command to update the table in AutoCAD after changes have been made in your spreadsheet. Use the "Upload User Changes to Source File" option (right-click on your AutoCAD table and select Data Links) to update the spreadsheet. Edited July 3, 2013 by ReMark Quote
kamig Posted July 3, 2013 Author Posted July 3, 2013 this massage apper only when i keep open the Excel file Quote
ReMark Posted July 3, 2013 Posted July 3, 2013 So click on the YES button and the changes you made back in AutoCAD should now be reflected in your spreadsheet. Quote
kamig Posted July 3, 2013 Author Posted July 3, 2013 no bro that's not updating by clicking yes there is somthink rong Quote
ReMark Posted July 3, 2013 Posted July 3, 2013 I have no explanation as to why it is happening but in a series of tests I ran this morning on a brand new table I now find that although I can make a change in a spreadsheet and update my AutoCAD table via the DATALINKUPDATE command I can no longer do the opposite. I tried it in AutoCAD 2014, 2013 and 2010. Now it's been a while since I last worked with a datalink (January 2013) and I know it worked then using AutoCAD 2013. The only thing that has changed is the installation of AutoCAD 2014 back in June. I did not upgrade the version of Microsoft Office, specifically Excel, that I am using. The only other changes I made had to do with the installation of both service packs for 2013. I can test this on my home CAD computer since 2014 is not installed and only SP 1 for 2013 has been installed. Very odd indeed. This will take further investigation. Quote
ReMark Posted July 3, 2013 Posted July 3, 2013 (edited) Do me a favor? Search your hard drive for a list of all your Excel files. Does the file you pulled into AutoCAD, that you are attempting to update, show up twice in different locations? For example, is there a copy under My Documents as well as in another folder? For reasons I cannot explain it looks like I have two Excel files with the same name but located in different folders. AutoCAD updates the copy but not the original. I don't recall that happening in the past as I have always dealt with one Excel file and I usually check any changes immediately as I will have the file open at the same time I am making edits to the table in AutoCAD. This is making my head hurt. Edited July 3, 2013 by ReMark Quote
