When using rectangular snap, the crosshair line stretches across the screen while isometric snap only shows short line? I hope I am clear on my question. Quote

Make sure your crosshairs is set to 100% in the display tab under options. Then go to the 3D Modeling tab and disable 'Show Z axis in crosshairs'. Quote
