But i'm new in autocad, and i'm not really sure it can be done easily with autocad. All help is welcome. I'm working making in the maintance of this equipment on my university. Should that be the case my suggestion would be to take a 3-day ACADE course from your local AutoDesk dealer (if available) so you can learn the right way to use the program. There are some things you should NOT use plain AutoCAD commands to do when working with Electrical 2013 as it may negatively affect the drawing database that is the strength of the program. Example: using plain AutoCAD's MOVE command instead of Electrical's SCOOT command. I could easily cite more examples. Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Unless he was going to draw a bunch of wiring diagrams just using plain autocad for this one drawing would be fine. Plus did you notice the date of the drawing, Jun of 1975, I don't think autocad electrical had been developed yet. In fact I don't think this was drawn by any type of drawing program. Yes, he could still redraw the 1975 schematics using plain AutoCAD and symbols he either creates himself or finds online. In any case my recommendation is to take your drawings to a electrical engineer and have them do some drawings for you if you haven't bought the program then this will be less of a headache and cheaper than trying to draw the schematics yourself plus if you make a mistake and than have to go back to your drawings for a repair you might end up burning down your school because of it. Running 220VAC in 3 phase through a contactor rated for 120VAC is not something you want to do. If you want to do the drawing yourself and you have the program at the very least have them checked by a PE and stamped. Just sayin you know.
