DuggDaly Posted November 12, 2013 Posted November 12, 2013 When I try to batch plot from Autocad 2009, using pdf 995, the save as dialog box does not open. I do not print in background, The drawings all process correctly. When it comes to the end nothing happens. I have set at It worked once or twice a while back. I cannot get to the root of the problem. The same happens with the plot to dwg standard plot on cad. The only way I can do a successful batch plot is if I set the file location on the plot to dwg prior to print. However, the plot to dwg does not plot our firms titleblock correctly. Any help would be much appreciated. Quote
Tuns Posted November 12, 2013 Posted November 12, 2013 When you click "publish options" under "General DWF/PDF Options" does the option for naming the file say "prompt for name"? Quote
DuggDaly Posted November 12, 2013 Author Posted November 12, 2013 When you click "publish options" under "General DWF/PDF Options" does the option for naming the file say "prompt for name"? Thats the thing about the version I have here. There is no "General DWF/PDF Options" it is simply "General DWF options". It is Autocad Architectural 2009, if that makes any difference. Tuns Posted November 12, 2013 Posted November 12, 2013 Maybe it has something to do with the PDF 995? Did you check the settings on it? Quote
ReMark Posted November 12, 2013 Posted November 12, 2013 For future consideration. Change your profile to AutoCAD Architectural 2009 so forum members know exactly what you are using. Thanks. Quote
DuggDaly Posted November 12, 2013 Author Posted November 12, 2013 Maybe it has something to do with the PDF 995? Did you check the settings on it? I have tried reinstalling it, uninstalling it and installing it. Changing settings on it. Copying settings from colleagues and replacing my settings with those, nothing has worked. They have no problems. I have to keep getting them to batch plot my pdfs when I want them combines. Not very professional!! P.S. Changed now ReMark Quote
DuggDaly Posted November 12, 2013 Author Posted November 12, 2013 I have tried getting away with the dwg to pdf but its easily noticed when somebody prints the pdf file. Not very professional either! Quote
Tuns Posted November 12, 2013 Posted November 12, 2013 I honestly can't think of any other settings that would effect this. I'm sorry. Quote
DuggDaly Posted November 12, 2013 Author Posted November 12, 2013 I honestly can't think of any other settings that would effect this. I'm sorry. No problem, thanks for trying. I tryed changing the settings again on pdf 995, no joy. I published just one doc in the publish settings and there was no problem, the save as box appeared straight away. Quote
ReMark Posted November 12, 2013 Posted November 12, 2013 (edited) Are you running this as an Administrator? Anyone else in the office using pdf 995 that can plot the drawings for you? Do you have a program called PDFEdit995? Do you have a PDF995.ini file? Edited November 12, 2013 by ReMark Quote

dbroada Posted November 13, 2013 Posted November 13, 2013 I know this doesn't help you but that is one reason why I don't use PDF995, I got the "save as" box but only AFTER I had shut AutoCAD down, by which time I had used a different "printer" anyway. Quote

I tried that, published the dwgs, then closed CAD, I didnt get the box. It must be pdf 995. The printer icon for it comes up in the bottom corner beside the clock (cant think of the correct term), but disappears before the publish is finished. Quote

AutoCAD's dwg to pdf plotter now does vector PDFs. I think it started before 2009. Can't get much more professional than that. What are your issues with the plots because here they look exactly the same as plots from AutoCAD? My office tried PDF995 for a while and it wasn't widely accepted. Quote

Pdf995 works perfect. dwg to pdf, the lineweights of all the text comes out a lot heavier. You will say pdf to A3 then... that does not help me though.... Some like to print at a1, some dont. (EDIT)(Actually, pdfing straight to A3 does not matter) Also, the dwg to pdf seems to always cut off the edge of the sheet when printed from pdf... had the same issue in my last office too.... It has to do with printing extents and not layout....... but pdf 995 just prints correct Either way, dwg to pdf is not very good, and does not fix my problem Quote
RobDraw Posted November 13, 2013 Posted November 13, 2013 When set up correctly, AutoCAD's dwg to pdf plotter plots exactly like plotting to paper. Maybe you should re-examine your page set-ups. Quote
