Rudbeckia Posted November 26, 2008 Posted November 26, 2008 Why do I have to regen the drawing to get the archs and circles to look smooth? Why do they not just stay smooth??? Am I doing something wrong when I draw them? It is driving me insane. Quote
ReMark Posted November 26, 2008 Posted November 26, 2008 Maybe you are zoomed in too close. Or maybe viewres needs to be set higher. Quote
Rudbeckia Posted November 26, 2008 Author Posted November 26, 2008 okay I will try viewres, what should it be set at Quote

Am I doing something wrong when I draw them? It is driving me insane. The reason for that would be to reduce pressure on your video card, a video frame displayed has a limit dependent on your vcard memory(eg. 256MB- means it can only show 256MB of video frame at a time) now if your cad drawing has thousands of spread arcs and circles displayed at full arc smoothness in zoom extents, you computer will slow up coz its using a lot of memory, cad automatically reduces arc smoothness to speed up your computer. now, a slowing computer is a lot more annoying than just a regen right  by the way, regen(RE) is the most abused command i use, i must have hit it a hundred times a day or more. dbroada Posted November 27, 2008 Posted November 27, 2008 don't forget that this only how it looks on screen while you are working. When you plot all the circles will be round. like nocturne, my RE keys are nicely polished. (along with the spacebar!) Quote

As for why need to regen, i wouldn't worry too much, unless it affects the quality of your prints, which as stated earlier by dbroada, when printing all your arcs will look smooth Quote
ReMark Posted November 27, 2008 Posted November 27, 2008 Funny, but I seldom have a need to invoke the "regen" command on my work computer. My home computer...well, that is a different story. Quote
nocturne00 Posted November 27, 2008 Posted November 27, 2008 Me im always itching to hit a command on the keyboard everytime im staring at the monitor and thinkin... RE then spacebarare the only things that comes to mind lolz! and like dbroada also my spacebar is like a polished shoe Quote
Tankman Posted November 28, 2008 Posted November 28, 2008 The glare of my ESC key sometimes makes me think, "Sunglasses?" Quote
