Butch
Hi guys! Im using ACAD 2011. I had to send my client an .pdf drawing. When I went to plot my drawing using the .dwg to .pdf all of my plot stlyes have dissapeared :-( Ive been trying to get them back but I have no idea what happend and what to do. In the attached image you can see ho all of the styles are gone... How to return them? upload pictures online
ReMark
Maybe the path to the plot styles is missing. Did you check? Options > Files > Printer Support File Location > Plot Style Table Search Path. Anything showing?
Butch
Yeap if I double click the "Plot Style Table Search Path" I can see the path C:\Users\myname\appdate\roaming\autodesk\autocad 2011\r18.1\enu\plot styles
ReMark
That's a start. Now copy the path and put it in Explorer so you can browse the contents of the folder to determine what is or isn't there.
Butch
"Windows cant find .......(named file)" ?! WTF?!
ReMark
You are looking for a folder not a file.
Butch
I found it! But there no "plot styles" in the enu directory!
ReMark
Are you on a networked computer by any chance?
Butch
Not curently, but when at home yes.
ReMark
Well I was thinking more like a network one would find at work. Then it isn't a case of the path being wrong or someone (IT person) moving the folder. Were you rooting around in AutoCAD folders for some reason? Alright...different approach. Using Explorer look under Program Files > AutoCAD 2011 > UserDataCache > Support > Plotters > Plot Styles. Do you see the files there? There should be 13 of them. Butch
ermm... I dont have "UserDataCache" folder in my Program Files > AutoCAD 2011 folder
ReMark
This is a 64-bit version of AutoCAD isn't it?
Butch
Yes it is.
ReMark
Well you should have a UserDataCache right where I said it would be found unless you deleted it. These things don't up and delete themselves. Are you sure you looked in the right location? Type STYLESMANAGER at the command prompt and press Enter. What, if anything, appears on your screen? ReMark
You seem to be missing a few items. Where did you obtain your version of AutoCAD?
Butch
Local distributor!
ReMark
A local distributor? You mean like Henry Noname? Do you have an installation disk handy?
Butch
No, like official Autodesk reseller!
ReMark
Do a REPAIR of your installation. Do NOT uninstall AutoCAD as there is no need to. The REPAIR should fix the missing items. Did you try resetting your Profile?
