ALoock Posted December 2, 2008 Posted December 2, 2008 HI. I would like to know if anybody knows of a site where I can go to for good CAD exercises. With my work I do not get to use many of the functions (mainly stretch!) and therefor I do not get a lot of good exercise. I just want to learn as fast as I can to be able to move on. Quote
BOB'27T Posted December 2, 2008 Posted December 2, 2008 The tutorials in the help section are a very good way to start. That's how I learned a lot of the basics. Quote
wannabe Posted December 2, 2008 Posted December 2, 2008 A good technique is to draw something thats a bit tougher than anything else you have drawn so far. Then draw it again and try and do it in less mouse clicks. Don't be afraid to explore, and experiment with, different menus and functions. I fully recommend you complete all the tutorials on this site and then kick on from there. You may even find use getting a book. Quote
skipsophrenic Posted December 2, 2008 Posted December 2, 2008 You may even find use getting a book. Try these books listed here http://www.cadtutor.net/faq/questions/18/What+is+the+best+book+to+learn+AutoCAD%3F Quote
ALoock Posted December 2, 2008 Author Posted December 2, 2008 Thank you for all the advice. Much appreciated! The program can do so much, each day feels like a waste if I did not learn something new and I certainly do not learn that by doing my job! Thanks again Quote
Ritch7 Posted December 2, 2008 Posted December 2, 2008 The secret to being good at Cad is practice, although some people believe to be good at something you need time, therefore the more time, the more experienced you are, but it’s how you MANAGE and what you ACCOMPLISH in "the time" that you have that results in how good you are at whatever, in this case CAD, you’re on the right lines, keep with the exercises and look into courses, and just play about with cad, literally experiment with buttons and commands which you don’t have a clue what they are or what they actually do! Its sure to help you with working with autocad in your job. Best of luck Quote
