dsibbo Posted March 13, 2014 Posted March 13, 2014 Anyone tell me how to print multiple tabs in one go? I hear it can be done with Publish and sheet sets but I have no experience using either. So if anyone can help with the steps that would be great. Thanks Dom Quote
RobDraw Posted March 13, 2014 Posted March 13, 2014 Publish is fairly simple if you have your page set-up(s) correct. There is plenty of information available about it, so I'm not going to describe it here. Simply type publish and you will get a dialog box with a list of sheets to be printed. Explore that box for a while noting the options available and develop a strategy that will work for you. Apply the desired settings and give it a go. Come back here with any questions. Quote
dsibbo Posted March 13, 2014 Author Posted March 13, 2014 How do I set the page setup in each tab automatically? If I have to go to each tab to set the tab up I may aswell press print and that defeats the purpose of printing all in one go. Quote
RobDraw Posted March 13, 2014 Posted March 13, 2014 Just like anything automated, there is a certain amount of prep work that needs to be done for it to work properly. If you had looked around the dialog box you may have discovered that you can import a page set-up and apply it to every sheet you plan on printing. Plus, you should have your files set-up properly for printing anyway so that you don't have to do it every time you want to print. Quote
Glen1980 Posted March 13, 2014 Posted March 13, 2014 You only have to do the set up once. If you are never going to print these drawings again, then go in and print them individually. However if you are going to print them often set up Page Layouts. If the drawings are all the same size and orientation you only need one set up per page size. Quote
dsibbo Posted March 13, 2014 Author Posted March 13, 2014 But do I then have to go into the page manager and set my new layout for each tab or can I do it on one and assign to all? Quote
Glen1980 Posted March 13, 2014 Posted March 13, 2014 In the publish dialogue box you can select all sheets then select the page layout from the drop down. Quote

I see in the Publish Dialog I can select my Page Setup from a drop down list next to each tab. This is probably my best bet yes. We don't normally set up page layouts for printing though, sometimes we print A3 for a quick check, sometimes full size for site installations, other times PDF for issuing purposes. It may be something I think about though, getting whoever sets the project up to set up page layouts so whenever they need printing it is there ready for the next person to do quickly. Quote
Glen1980 Posted March 13, 2014 Posted March 13, 2014 I've added the page setups for the different sizes and plotters we have to the standard template so everyone has them built into their drawing. Quote
RobDraw Posted March 13, 2014 Posted March 13, 2014 Yeah, having commonly used page set-ups in your template is ideal. Quote
