Overtime Posted December 3, 2008 Posted December 3, 2008 Hi, I'll first explain what im doing in order to better explain the problem I have. I make two circles inside of each other, draw a line to the outer circle from the centre, offset that line on both sides then trim everything such that the end result is a rectangle attached to the circle with the "bottom" of the rectangle trimmed. I then array it. Now, I need to make many of these and cant find a process to effectively copy them and place them very accurately. I want to place the object by dragging the centre of the circle to a specific point. I use join to combine everything. Then, when I highlight everything the blue squares dont show so i cant place the object very accurately without a lot of fuss. Perhaps there is a simple solution to this problem...I need that centre blue square to appear which makes the whole thing move together. Thanks for any help. Please ask if what ive written makes no sense! Quote
GhostRider Posted December 3, 2008 Posted December 3, 2008 easiest way that comes to mind is select your object to move or copy and use center object snap to set the base point to the center of your circle. one other way you could set a node or point in the center if your circle and use OS node to slect the base point. would converting the object to a block work for you? If so block it and set the center of the circle as you base and the grip will be there when you select the object to move or copy Quote
