I have tried different methods. have come across 'normblocks' this seems a quick way to create an xref has anyone used this? I would like to have my main building in number 8 grey and furniture and ceiling grid in number 254 what is best way of doing this? does anyone have a good method? I sometimes have project where architect is changing building plan and I keep having to update, create new xref. etc. any help? many thanks
RobDraw
I am not familiar with NORMBLOCKS but it sounds like you already know what to do. What exactly are you having trouble with? My workflow: 1.) Save original arch file in safe location. 2.) Save copy to XREF location and make color changes. Also, "clean up" the file of unnecessary stuff. 3.) XREF into base file. Updates: 1.) Save incoming and XREF to safe location(s) for back-ups. 2.) Make "temp" file for clean-up. 3.) Update layer settings with layer translator and "clean-up" file. 4.) Save overwriting XREF file. Methods for cleaning the file will vary depending on the source of the file.
