I had to work on a coworkers drawing while he was on vacation. This is not my drawing so i do not know how things got to where they are.

Civil 3D 2014 drawing. Site plan for a water treatment plant, using xrefs, data shortcuts for surfaces.

When going to paperspace the viewports are not looking at the site they are 1.3 million feet to the west. Ive repositioned them a few times now, but it would appear over night they go back to looking into space miles away from the actual site plan. Even with the viewport locked they still move. Has anyone seen this or had this happen? I have tried wblock'ing the entire drawing, while fixing other errors it hasnt fixed the viewport issue. I purge and audit multiple times a day. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Does your project include View Frames (i.e., the place holder that Viewports in Sheet Drawings with a Viewport Type = Plan are dynamically linked to, via Plan Production Tools)?

Try this - PROPERTYPREVIEW turn it to Off.

Its a new command that came out in 2013.

Typically our office doesnt use sheet sets but for some odd reason he decided to use it for this job. View frames are for plan and profile drawings right? I dont think he has any of those.

Sheet Set Manager (SSM) is just a container to organize your drawings, and has nothing to do with either Civil 3D's View Frames, or Plan Production Tools per-se... Vanilla AutoCAD can use SSM, as example.

That said, to modify the View Frames, in Toolspace palette, under Data Shortcuts node (with the correct Working Folder set current), expand View Frames node, and right-click the appropriate shortcut (if more than one), and select Open Source Drawing... menu.

There is nothing under the "View Frame Groups" node. So I'm guessing there aren't any.

Yea right after reading your post i thought SSM was involved and replied, then thought about it after and though that wasn't right, they are separate things.

Once again back to having no idea why.
