Probably on the Network admins computer, I am getting the feeling that I might as well have him reinstall autocad because it seems that would be easier.

Oh yeah, let's break out the sledgehammer because you can't find the right switch.

There is absolutely NO need to reinstall AutoCAD. Always consider that the option of last resort.

Type (findfile”acad.cuix”) at the command line exactly like it appears then press the Enter key. AutoCAD will return the path to your acad.cuix file.

The sequence:

Command: (findfile"acad.cuix")

"C:\\Users\\yourcomputernamehere\\appdata\\roaming\\autodesk\\autocad 2011\\r18.1\\enu\\support\\acad.cuix"

Now close AutoCAD.

Migrate over to the support file location shown above and once there you should see two files: acad.bak.cuix and acad.cuix.

Delete acad.cuix. Don’t worry, it’s only going to get as far as the Recycle Bin.

Rename acad.bak.cuix to acad.cuix.

Start up AutoCAD. Check your tabs in Options. There should be a Profiles tab now.

Typed that in and it came back with LISP command not available.

My mistake, I had 2014 but on Monday they had a problem with the license so I am back on 2011 until they get it straight with autodesk. It is a 64 bit version

What you are looking for isn't available in 2011, only >2014. Wait until you have 2014 and then you will again be able to pick from the command line.

Lisp command not available? No Profile tab? Is your 2011 version by any chance AutoCad LT instead of the full version? This would explain those two issues.

To be able to click the blue options in the command line in 2014, you need to turn off dynamic input. With dyn input on, you get the roll up selection list where you use the arrow up or down key to select the option. Dyn input should be the first toggle button to the right of your paper/model toggle.

Wait, never mind. That's not completely correct. Apparently I have had this happen to me in 2015 also, but now I can click the secondary prompts (blue hilighted) on the command line, where before I could not, unless dyn input was off.

I do not have those options for an ellipse.

You will have to be in isometric mode (SNAPSTYL = 1) to see the isocircle option. Also, issue ellipse from the command line rather than from the ribbon or toolbar, some ellipse choices will not show those options.

I think you must have typed it wrong. I tested it in 2010 and it works fine.

That makes sense.

Spot on, I didn't realize that. I do have the LT version, I had the full version in 14 and I didn't even think about that. Thanks I am going to go ***** and moan until I get the full version of 14 back.

Ahhhhh.....the dreaded LT version. Amazing how those two letters can make all the difference in the world. Guess you'll have to rely on plain old macros or diesel macros.
