nicnicman Posted December 14, 2008 Posted December 14, 2008 The attached drawing is part of a 3d truss plan. The yellow 2x4s represent framing that will be done on site. What would be the best way to Slice the yellow 2 x 4s even with each other? The slice command wants to slice with AutoCAD,s default planes (Top, Bottom, Right, Left, Front, Back). The problem is that I want to slice with a different plane (UCS). I have tried using the 3-point option on the UCS toolbar but I'm not getting the effect I want. The Subtract command would probably work but this seems like a more time consuming method. I would like to slice the 2 x 4's as if they were sitting on the ground plane. Any suggestions? Raggi_Thor Posted December 14, 2008 Posted December 14, 2008 Have you tried to first create the new UCS with 3Poiints and then run the slice command? Quote
nicnicman Posted December 14, 2008 Author Posted December 14, 2008 I thought I did but I could be doing it wrong. Quote
nicnicman Posted December 14, 2008 Author Posted December 14, 2008 Okay, I've got it now. Sorry to have bothered you. Guess I just needed to step away for a minute. Quote
shift1313 Posted December 14, 2008 Posted December 14, 2008 sometimes its best to draw some reference lines where you want to slice your object. glad you got it. Quote
