RMerrell
I work at a landscape architecture firm and we regularly receive backgrounds from architects which we use to draw our landscape designs. Our normal procedure is to select everything in the drawing and set color to "by layer" then we select all of the layers and change the color to color 11 which is a 40% screened color. This way our design pops out on top of the architectural background. Our problem is with the blocks created by the architects. Many times the colors for the items drawn in the blocks are assigned a specific color. When we change all the layers to color 11, it does not change the color of the items in the blocks that are assigned a specific color. So I end up having to edit all of the blocks manually and changing the items within the block to color "by layer". Depending on the drawings and the layer management of the architecture firm, this can take anywhere from a half hour to several hours. And, with some projects, we get weekly background updates, so this has become extremely cumbersome. Is there an easy way to override the colors assigned within a block? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Robert Merrell
