CAD to photoshop

Hey Guys,

 

Just dropping a quick line to see how to get from AutoCAD (2006 Educational Edition) into Adobe Photoshop (CS2). I've drawn the plans at 1:100 in CAD units so exporting at 1:1 is in order I think?

 

Apologies if this has been asked a hundred times, im not great at browsing forums either

What are you trying to do in photoshop? You can PLOT as a jpeg with the Publishto Web JPG option under the printer selection dropdown. Or use the JPGOUT command to make jpeg of just selected objects.

Printscreen while in autocad and then ctrl V in photoshop. Or do it the harder way. Plot to ESP and then open this file in photoshop. I think that tutorial explains it very well.

I'd stick to JPGOUT command.

^ I did a modified version of this. Here is a walkthrough. Go FILE > PLOTTER MANAGER... then ADD-A-PLOTTER WIZARD. NEXT then "My Computer" then NEXT. For Plotter Model ... manufacturer "ADOBE" and model "POST SCRIPT LEVEL 2". NEXT then NEXT and for Ports choose "Plot to File" and NEXT. Now name your pc3... for example "AutoCAD_to_Photoshop_EPS.pc3" ...NEXT and FINISH.

 

Now whenever you plot, you can plot out a perfect EPS by choosing "AutoCAD_to_Photoshop_EPS.pc3" as the plotter. You have complete control over quality, size, scale, etc. Photoshop can directly open EPS files.
