Changing defaults of Surface Pasting

I am attempting to paste on surface into another, but the grading that joins the two when I do is too gradual. Is there a way to adjust this so that when I paste one into the other the grading between them is steeper?

When you paste a surface into another it will automatically connect the extents of your pasted surface to the nearest adjacent points of your host surface. In order to have it connect where you want you will need to create a feature line at grade around the perimeter of your pasted surface where you want the two to come together.
