Trouble Inserting Xref between different users

Recommended Posts

Posted (edited)

Hello,

I've been working in Autocad civil 3d 2014 and on my computer all the files xref in at the same location where its file a, b c, etc., everything lines up with our survey. Now when my co-worker tries to xref the same files into the same location they come in at a completely different location. I've run an audit and a purge on the drawings, base is set to 0,0,0; ins-units are all set to 2, insbase is at 0,0,0.

First time posting so i don't know if there is any other info that you might need to help, so just let me know.

thanks,

Jamie

Edit: actually now that I'm looking at it again, the purge moved my xref to a different location. the file that moved after the purge had the base coordinates set to a different location. Anyone know a reason for this?

Welcome to CADTutor. :)

It would be a good idea to change your profile software description to Civil 3D 2014.

Are the templates from which both of you started your drawings Imperial?

Yes we have our base files that we copy into each project and only one person has access to those so no one changes anything, then we just adjust the surveyors line types to match our plot styles and line-types.

I don't use Civil 3D, just thought it was worth asking that, seemed like a good place to start.

Are you aware that there is a forum specificially for Civil 3D on CADTutor, it is found in the Verticals Forum?

There are lots of members of the forum who will be able to help you with this.
