Brooklyn Posted December 24, 2008 Posted December 24, 2008 You can accomplish this task in Design Center (CRTL+2) Quote
totzky Posted December 24, 2008 Posted December 24, 2008 1. Copy-paste? 2. Insert? 3. Via design center? Quote
Guest Xenophon Posted December 24, 2008 Posted December 24, 2008 start with a template that has all the layers you need as a point, so they don't get purged out Quote
autocad_designer08 Posted December 24, 2008 Posted December 24, 2008 Anyone knows how to transfer the created LAYER to another file?? My sequence is i do have a Layer in my first drawing, then I want to transfer that Layer into another New File(New Drawing). So that i can do my new drawing in a fast way with out creating New Layer.. i dont know if this is the best way but this is what ive been doing if i want to copy a specific layer to a new dwg file. first, i turn off all the layers except the one(lets say "layer 1") i wish to copy and make it current. in the drawing area i'll CTRL C(copy) one object(say line or a point) in that layer. now, in my new DWG file, ill just CTRL V(paste) the object in the drawing area and automatically when you check the layer drop down list you'll see the layer u wish to copy is laready there. then you can now delete the object you have just pasted... hope this can help:)... if it doesnt, ignore it! hehe Quote
musyas Posted December 24, 2008 Author Posted December 24, 2008 @autocad_designer i tried what you've said. but what if I want a multiple type of layer, and what i i have 50+ type of Layer, should i copy-paste all the object into the other drawing? @brooklyn,totzky can you give me step-by-step to create a new layer in Design Center? totzky Posted December 24, 2008 Posted December 24, 2008 Open the source drawing and on design center (layer) simply drag and drop layers to the drawing area. Quote
musyas Posted December 24, 2008 Author Posted December 24, 2008 I did that already. What i mean is where can i find the Layer that i created in the other file? And how to traner it into a New File? Quote
totzky Posted December 24, 2008 Posted December 24, 2008 You have to be in the new file, the source drawing should be open so that you will be able to see it on the open drawings of DCenter. Quote
autocad_designer08 Posted December 24, 2008 Posted December 24, 2008 @autocad_designeri tried what you've said. but what if I want a multiple type of layer, and what i i have 50+ type of Layer, should i copy-paste all the object into the other drawing? @brooklyn,totzky can you give me step-by-step to create a new layer in Design Center? if it requires you to do so then you have to copy all the object. you can just CTRL A(select all) and CTRL C(copy) to make it simple... you can just delete all the objects afterward in the new DWG file (w/out the LAYERS affected)... or if u find it complicated then u should take totzky's advise, simple and easy! Quote
