Hatch patterns

I continue to get errors in my hatch patterns that I have found on the internet. I have one where the error said missing parameter in line 2 now it says missing parameter in line 3. other then reading the code there has to be a way to run these numbers through a program that could tell you what is wrong.

I have dozens of hatch patterns with errors.

I got rid of the spaces between the numbers on the first line and that is when the error jumped to line 3.

Where are you finding all these defective hatch patterns?

Your lines are just too long, try reducing the number of decimal places, there is an 80 character limit for the length of a line in a hatch pattern file. (and lines 9 and 10 have an extra space [.30829038*] and [.3082903*8]

Maybe I'll have to look at some of the patterns I've found in the past, investigate, and resurrect from the "errors" folder.

It might be that one of the errors is actually in the first line.

 

The format of the first line should be *pattern-name [, description]

 

So if there is no description, there should be no comma.

I didn't realize that it was so important to keep the number of characters under 80 if that would have dawned on me I could have fixed them along time ago without all this frustration!

I just google hatch patterns or go to sites like this one where someone mentions that they have a place to get blocks and I check it out and the site also has hatch patterns that I think may be interesting. now that I know that they can't be too long I can just go in an fix them by deleting a few numbers, and spaces to make them work.

One safe way to shorten the pattern lines to 80 characters or less is to duplicate each and edit to split the last four numbers between each pair while dealing with the mentioned extra space in line 9.
