squareknees Posted January 12, 2016 Posted January 12, 2016 I have a few dynamic blocks that I have created that I need a little help with. I have a drawer front that has standard pulls I have it set to stay centered on the drawer front as I make the drawer longer or taller. I need to know how to array the pull so when the drawer front gets to a certain length it will add another pull and centers the 2 pulls on the drawer. it doesn't sound hard but I can't get it to work. I will need to know the steps so I can add the changes to the drawer top view block that I have as well. Thanks Drawer Front.dwg Quote
Ski_Me Posted January 12, 2016 Posted January 12, 2016 I really like this block can you tell me how you made it. I'm not familiar with this type of block and I can see where I could use this in what I do. As to adding 2 pulls couldn't you create a 2 pull that you could select just like you did with the single pulls? Quote
TheCADnoob Posted January 12, 2016 Posted January 12, 2016 (edited) err noob move.. see my later post Edited January 12, 2016 by TheCADnoob Quote
squareknees Posted January 12, 2016 Author Posted January 12, 2016 thanks for the help. For right now I created a wide drawer front with 2 handles, to space the handles I added a stretch variable that is .25 to one of the pulls and the other is set to .75 so they will stretch with the front of the drawer. I also made it so the drawer front can't be smaller then 24" it seems to be working but I was hoping to not have multiple drawer fronts to choose from. that is why I created the first dynamic block. I don't have a lot of time to make the corrections to the drawer front so when I get a chance I will try to add the array (which I tried). When you added array, will the arrayed pulls center on the drawer front? Thanks Quote
TheCADnoob Posted January 12, 2016 Posted January 12, 2016 so i totaly missed the point of your question but think i may have found the solution https://forums.autodesk.com/t5/dynamic-blocks/dynamic-block-how-to-keep-a-linear-array-centered/m-p/5215635#M17108 Quote
dbroada Posted January 12, 2016 Posted January 12, 2016 I don't use AutoCAD these days so can't look at what you have got but I never found a way for conditional items. One way forward might be to have 3 handles and display either one or two using a visibility parameter. Quote
squareknees Posted January 13, 2016 Author Posted January 13, 2016 Thanks CADnoob that will help a ton. I will dissect the drawing they had listed and make it work for me. Thanks again Quote
