eldon
When you create a linetype, AutoCAD guarantees that the endpoints of lines and arcs end with a dash. The pattern does not start with a fixed length. The whole line length is considered, and AutoCAD adjusts the first and last dashes to cater for the actual line length. You have no error. It is exactly how AutoCAD works.
sivapathasunderam
Hi, thanks for your response. So there is no error Maybe future cad versions will have solution Kind regards Siva
rkmcswain
The description from @eldon applies when you use the "A" alignment code, but there is another code that generates linetypes differently. Neither one will do exactly what you want - unless the total length of your entity is exactly the same as the sum of the segment lengths. For example, if you have a linetype definition that says draw a 1 unit dash and a 1 unit gap, and repeat, how do you want it to appear on a line that is 6.7 units long? The A alignment code ensures that each interior dash and gap are exactly 1 unit long. The starting and ending segments are the ones who are modified. The S alignment code distributes the extra space among the dashes and gaps (with the unfortunate side effect of ending with a gap in this case) *A-Align-Code, __ __ __ __ __ __ __ __ __ A,1.0,-1.0 *S-Align-Code, __ __ __ __ __ __ __ __ __ S,1.0,-1.

It seems to be great now Many thanks Siva
