versegi Posted April 10, 2007 Posted April 10, 2007 I will need to purchase Autocad for company that I am working for.We need for designing HVAC adn plumbing. Please can somebody help me out with good software for this type or work. I did some research online and found Autodesk Building System with HVAC opetion, but I couldnt find demo-trial version as they offer for other products.I would like to download trial version so I can play around and see all options that offer. I have some knowledge in 2D AutoCad but would like software that will not be hard to use in 3D mode. Thank you Quote

Thank you Autodesk Building Systems is a "BIM" (Building Information Modeling) type of software and is highly advanced. it draws in 3D easily right out of the box. you just tell it the elevations, the width/height of the duct, when you want transitions, radius/vained elbows, etc etc. it is the future of CAD design, so if you can get it now, then do it. contact your local AutoCAD Reseller, they will have demo CD's that they will mail you for free. you can get this info off of www.autodesk.com/reseller to get ahold of a trial CD. you're definitely looking in the right area. Hope this helps. Quote
slickrick2222 Posted April 11, 2007 Posted April 11, 2007 Here is a specialized software for HVAC Cad design. My company uses this software for ductwork, but a different one (I believe to be inferior) for piping. It runs on Autocad, and loads as an ARX file. It takes some setting up, but for the end users it is a really advanced, but easy program. http://www.cadduct.com/indexmain.html Quote
