Define Global Variable Name

Recommended Posts

Is it possible using AutoLISP to define a variable name from the command line when running a function? I want to input the name when running it from the command line. Can I do this and still have the variable be global? If so, how would I go about that?

Thanks in advance.

You want to prompt the user for the name of the variable?

If so, use getstring to obtain the variable name and then the set & read functions to define it.

I would prefer to have it as a parameter, so I could include the variable name when I run the function via the command line. I am trying set and read right now, I am new to LISP so I am stumbling through it at the moment.
