djole
I noticed that when i move or rotate some 2d drawing that has a Solid Hatch on it, after placing to a new position or angle, the drawing looks disturbed. I saw that this was because the hatch "swam up" on the front the drawing, so the lines could not be seen because of it. Until now, i have been solving this by entering the Hatch Edit, then chose from Draw order: Send to back. And then the thing are ok But i have to repeat this process on some hatches (on some not) every time i move or rotate the drawing (that consists hatch). Is there any way i could avoid this "Send to back" process every time? Is there a way to keep the hatch "to back" once and forever i set it at this option? MaxwellEdison
You could create a macro or button to set HPDRAWORDER to 1. This is the system variable that gets set when you go into the hatch edit and will send all hatches to the back. May still be a repeated process, but it bypasses the Hatch dialog box. djole
thanks for the answer. But i haven`t understood you quite: i have to simply run the: "HPDRAWORDER" in the Command box and the enter: "1"? Or not? What`s that "macro or button"? MaxwellEdison
Yes, you can just set HPDRAWORDER to 1 from the command line. Its basically what you were already doing in the Hatch Edit dialog box, just without taking the time to open it and click the buttons to apply. What I was refering to was creating a custom button which would do this. Ellen Finkelstein created a how-to for this over on her blog. djole
oh i see. Thanks. I will check that Ellen`s tip also, but just to see if i understood you well: I first have to enter to Hatch edit, and then enter the "HPDRAWORDER" in the Command box - the result will be sending all hatches to background? MaxwellEdison
No, you use HPDRAWORDER INSTEAD of using edit hatch. Its simply a faster way to do the same thing.
rkent
type SORTENTS and the command line, hit enter and write back telling us what it is set to. It should be set to 0 when using DRAWORDER.

rkent
Not sure you understood me. First set SORTENTS to 0. Now use DRAWORDER to send the hatch to the back. Leave SORTENTS at 0.
