Revit Schedule

I need help making a schedule. Is anyone around here good at such things? Basically, I have a building with panels on it, and some of the information about the panels must be displayed in a schedule.

 

Please assist.    I have no idea what I'm doing...!!

Scheduling in Revit is very simple on a basic level. It can get very complicated the more complex you need it but it's all based on simple logic. Attached is a PDF of a QAQC sheet showing a BOM takeoff of selected HVAC and piping items. These are all true Revit schedules, being populated directly off the model. 

 

To get a basic schedule going, you'll need to first select the Category of the Family you'll schedule. From there, you'll find a selection of Fields to grab: it's easy to pick the most basic Fields to get started, such as "Family" (which is the Family Name) and "Type" (which is the Family Type Name), and so forth. From here you can add other Fields, such as the Type Mark parameter, or Model and Manufacturer, and so as long as the information is inputted you can handle the data any which way. Then you can use calcs such as total linear distances, or quantities, or the surface areas and volumes and so forth. 

 

Furthermore, you can get pristine data handling from your Filter and Sorting options in the schedule. This can be the more intermediate to complicated areas because now you begin to use logic based functions to handle the data and if something's not set up properly it won't populate. Many, many examples floating around the internet and Youtube to help you along. My advice is to begin with simple things and expand from there.
