cadmando-2
I recently started using AutoCAD AMLIBRARY to link our Vendor 3D blocks and custom blocks, but our main engineer/IT wants us to start using XREF. I search the web for XREF utility like AMLIBRARY and unable to find anything. Does anyone know of a robust “External Reference manager utility” lisp routine that is similar to AMLIBRARY? tombu
AMLIBRARY is an AutoCAD Mechanical tool not available in any other AutoCAD software and somewhat different than xref. Only reason to switch would be if not everyone in your office had Mechanical installed.
cadmando-2
We have AutoCAD Mechanical and I set it up to use the AMLIBRARY. But main Engineer wants us to use XREF and not insert command. AMLIBRARY will allow you to insert file and if drawing have Xref attached, it will come in that way. But that is not what they want. I will have to create custom utility myself, when I have free time in 2 years from now . LAL Edited October 20, 2018 by cadmando-
framednlv
Tool palettes can be used to insert or xref. Should not take to long to setup.
