bds808 Posted January 22, 2009 Posted January 22, 2009 Hi, Does anyone know why hatch1 and hatch2 work at a scale of 50 in one drawing, but in another drawing hatch1 works at 50 but hatch2 works at 1000? The hatches that we are using are the predefined brick and honeycomb. Quote
smorales02 Posted January 22, 2009 Posted January 22, 2009 What do you mean by "works"? Are you putting the hatches in modelspace? Quote
bds808 Posted January 22, 2009 Author Posted January 22, 2009 By works I mean display properly. And yeah they are being placed in model space. Quote
profcad Posted January 22, 2009 Posted January 22, 2009 Update the hatches and change the origin to one of the corners of the area that is being hatched. If your hatch to too far from 0,0 it will start messing up. Quote
smorales02 Posted January 22, 2009 Posted January 22, 2009 Are the areas you are hatching the same in both drawings or is one smaller than the other? Quote
bds808 Posted January 22, 2009 Author Posted January 22, 2009 Thanks John, I'll try that. smorales02, the areas are the same size. Quote
bds808 Posted January 22, 2009 Author Posted January 22, 2009 What all can affect the scale of hatch? The only thing that I can think of is the units, but both drawings are set to decimal and millimeters. Quote
dtkell Posted January 22, 2009 Posted January 22, 2009 Do you get any warnings when the hatch won't work at scale of 50? Quote
smorales02 Posted January 22, 2009 Posted January 22, 2009 Im kinda stumped on this one...I would have to see the dwgs to see exactly what is happening... But like mentioned above, do you get any warnings? Quote
Strix Posted January 23, 2009 Posted January 23, 2009 completely random suggestion, but is INSUNITS set to the same in both drawings? Quote
A1DWG Posted January 23, 2009 Posted January 23, 2009 Check the MEASUREMENT value is the same for both drawings. Quote
eldon Posted January 23, 2009 Posted January 23, 2009 There exist within AutoCAD, two sets of hatch patterns that differ by a factor of 25 (metric/imperial conversion). One of your drawings must have been in contact with the other hatch patterns when the odd scaled hatch was drawn. I can only suggest, that if the different scaling bothers you, that you delete the curious hatch, purge and save the drawing, and then see if you can get the hatch pattern working from the correct source file. jules_s Posted January 23, 2009 Posted January 23, 2009 I've occasionally had this 'problem' Twas caused by some of the hatches being created in LT Quote
Dipali Posted January 23, 2009 Posted January 23, 2009 completely random suggestion, but is INSUNITS set to the same in both drawings? I had the same thought when I read the question. but we want know untill OP comes back online. Quote
bds808 Posted January 23, 2009 Author Posted January 23, 2009 Thanks A1DWG! It was that the measurement was set to 0. I didn't know about that before. Thanks everyone for helping figure this out!!! Cheers! Quote
