Gunktank Posted January 23, 2009 Posted January 23, 2009 Hi We've just had Inventor installed at work. We design sewage treatment works, so we're doing the buildings, tanks & pipework in 3D. Has anyone got any 3D lanscaping models, trees, bushes &c, or know where I can find some? People & vehicles would be handy too! Cheers H:wink: Quote
ReMark Posted January 23, 2009 Posted January 23, 2009 What are the acceptable file formats you can use with Inventor? Quote
Hoozin Posted January 23, 2009 Posted January 23, 2009 I don't get the impression that Inventor would be terribly useful for designing at that level (I'm sure it can, just not how I generally envision the program). You may be able to find something if ReMark is bored enough to scour cben though. .ipt - Inventor Part File .iam - Inventor Assembly File .idw - Inventor Drawing File .dwg - Autodesk Standard DWG I'm not sure if the last two would be actual models though. I'm not sure how well Inventor would play with a DWG model, but it "should" be able to in some way at least. Quote
Gunktank Posted January 23, 2009 Author Posted January 23, 2009 Apparently, filetypes can be: Pro/ENGINEER Parasolid SolidWorks UGS NX SAT STEP IGES It's all a bit Greek to be, I only drive the thing, I haven't a clue what goes on under the bonnet! Quote
ReMark Posted January 23, 2009 Posted January 23, 2009 "...if ReMark is bored enough". Is that a dig? I think it's a dig. LOL Start at CADTutor with two simple and two complex trees: http://www.cadtutor.net/ibank/vector/3d-trees/3d-trees.html Quote

Then again, I got back to work 2 weeks ago and they have NOTHING for me to do. Quote
