MS-S Posted January 28, 2009 Posted January 28, 2009 Why is it when I open Linetype Manager to load the linetypes I wish to use in a drawing, not all linetypes are available on some drawings. For example, the file I'm working with now does not offer linetypes DASH1, DASH 2, DASH 3 etc., while some other drawings will? Quote
NaeKid Posted January 28, 2009 Posted January 28, 2009 There are different line-types for Metric vs Imperial drawings. If I want to take a line-type from one to the other, I will just edit the acad.lin file (basic text file) or the acadiso.lin file and put what I need into it .. You can also create your own *.lin files with line-types that you want to use regularly. Quote
ReMark Posted January 28, 2009 Posted January 28, 2009 A linetype that is not loaded into a drawing is obviously not available for use in the drawing. Quote
Brynn Posted January 28, 2009 Posted January 28, 2009 In my student version of autocad 2008 I open the linetype manager, then hit the "load" button and it opens a "Load or Reload linetypes" box (listing ALL standard linetypes). From there you just highlight the required linetypes and hit "ok". Hope this helps Quote
A1DWG Posted January 29, 2009 Posted January 29, 2009 I dont think that DASH1 DASH 2 and DASH3 are standard AutoCAD linetypes, did this drawing originate from another user? It may be that they have there own linetypes, which are within your drawing, but not your standard settings. Quote
KimbleC Posted February 1, 2009 Posted February 1, 2009 By default should be pointing to C:\Program Files\AutoCAD 2008\Support\acadiso.lin or acad.lin in the same place. Quote
