Bill Tillman
Why do some lines have a radiused end like the vertical one shown here? This is just a typical line in Layer 0 with lineweight of default.
ammobake
It's something I've never noticed before but my hunch is it has to do with plot style settings. Are you applying a plot style (CTB or STB)? If you notice, when you draw a polyline and then manually specify a thickness (changing global thickness property to 1" or 2" for example) the ends are always straight. But if you keep all the settings at 0 or default, then apply a plot style to thicken the lineweight, it will have rounded ends. More than likely, this is just because of how Autocad applies the lineweight thickness per the plot style. The rounded edge only appears if you specify a lineweight in your plot style Thicker than what you've specified in the properties box. In fact, if you apply a plot style then zoom way in to your print preview, you will see that each individual line or polyline that is being "thickened" by the plot style will have rounded ends. Dana W
Hit F1 and use "To Assign a Line End or Line Join Style" as search criteria. Control is in the plot style editor, and lives in the plot style overrides data set. Rounded is by far the best choice. It is the only choice where the ends ALWAYS look connected.
