Recommended Posts

I want to group a set of lines, then i want to be able to essential copy and paste them, and manually place them where i want them, via moving the mouse.

is this possible?

basically i have created a shape, now i need to copy it, to be able to keep it the same size as the original without having to re-do it.

If you are new to AutoCAD one thing to learn now is that there are many ways to do any given operation.

To copy an item, or a group of items you can use the simple AutoCAD command COPY to copy within your drawing. If you want them in another drawing or application use the Windows copy/paste just as with any other program. I prefer ctrl-c and ctrl-v for copy/paste this way.

If indeed you wanted to group items together you can either create a block from them OR you can use the GROUP command. Then you can copy and paste til your hearts content.
