Scaling in layout

While working in model space, using 1:1 scale. Then opening up say A3 for layout.

i bring my drawing into view. But then how to I scale that drawing, to 1:100 on the A3 paper space?

i know this might be a simple thing, but am having trouble doing it

To set the scale in your viewport, look at the properties of the viewport. You can adjust the Annotation Scale and the Standard Scale, but Annotation Scale only affects annotative objects (as you might expect). There's a pulldown list of scales for the Standard Scale. If the scale you need isn't there, you'll need to edit the list of available scales (using the SCALELISTEDIT command or the Custom option on the scale list, which you may have on your status bar).

 

Once you have the proper scale, it's a good idea to lock the viewport so that you don't change the viewport accidentally.

Like other posts I replied to recently so easy.

 

1st title block is 420x297 in layout true mm size mview done within, zoom in approx scale.

Now important have the Viewports toolbar turned on. Click in viewport a number will appear in the toobar this is current scale factor.

For 1:100 type 10 (thats for dwg in metres) you will see 1:100 appear.

The scale factor for a dwg in metres my civil dwg's is 1000/scale factor so 1;100 = 1000/100 =10 

 

Knowing this without tool bar open bless metric

zoom view approx then type "Zoom 10xp" this will be 1:100

 

MM will still be a direct scale factor like 0.1xp

 

Bricscad does not appear to have a Viewports toolbar
