Son of Aslan Posted February 9, 2009 Posted February 9, 2009 Hello all, I have a question. I understand that if you have the FILEDIA system variable set to 1, and the startup variable set to 1, any new file request will prompt you on whether you want to draw in Imperial or Metric Units. But what if you have a file with entities already drawn with Imperial units, and you need to add to the drawing with a drawing in metric units. Is there any way to convert and existing drawing, where the drawing units is in inches, and draw in Metric without all the scaling. In other words, if you need to draw to native line 1 mm in a drawing where Imperial is active. You need to click a point, shoot your line straight up and type 1, it will draw the line 1 mm. Is there a system variable to toggle back and forth from Imperial to Metic in a drawing? 2005 is the version being used. Quote
ReMark Posted February 9, 2009 Posted February 9, 2009 Scale the whole drawing. There is no magic button for toggling between Imperial and Metric. Could you insert the Imperial drawing into a Metric template? Quote
ReMark Posted February 9, 2009 Posted February 9, 2009 A handy little reference article about working with Metric and Imperial in AutoCAD: http://augiru.augi.com/content/library/au07/data/paper/GD405-3.pdf Quote
